Invest In Yourself: Graduated From Beauty School

In October I decided I wanted to take my passion seriously. I acted on impulse and scheduled an appointment to enroll in beauty school, I didn’t tell anyone and I didn’t know how I was going to pay for it all. Fast forward to Thursday May 24th, Graduation.

I went to college straight out of high school but for personal reasons I never finished. I wanted to finish something I started, for once. 5 months later I have graduated, paid tuition balance in full days before. and I want to thank every person who came to my school to receive a service and anyone who has reposted a flyer. I had an amazing instructor and wonderful classmates.

I really am thankful for my instructor and now friend Larissa. She has been in the beauty industry for years and I have learned a lot from her. She gives great advice, she provides attention to detail and very knowledgeable in esthetics.

She told me to not be discouraged, and that strangers will support you before your family will. That will stick with me forever.

I don’t have any regrets about beauty school except wishing I started sooner, but everything happens on God’s timing. I learned alongside 5 other wonderful ladies and it was a great experience.

I am thankful for my siblings and my best friend whom I call my sister, they have supported me since Day 1. Coming in to receive services and my sister being my muse when I want to do makeup.

I have learned a lot about myself in this journey. My procrastination has decreased tremendously. I can achieve anything I put my mind to and this was a goal I set for myself for 2018. I didn’t let anything stop me from graduating on time, hell I graduated a week early! Finished the program with an A.

My advice for anyone not knowing what they want to do in life. Explore, research, travel, seek a mentor, write your goals down. Think about something you love doing that you wouldn’t mind doing for free. Don’t let anyone steer you wrong and do what makes you happy.

What’s next for me? State Boards exam, continuously building my clientele for makeup and waxing services, and moving to a different position within Ulta!

Hey love, thanks for reading I would love to know your thoughts on this post. Comment below!
